Wow, what a beautiful painting right?? Nope, this is not a painting this is a real picture of Deadvlei in Namibia. The orange background is the sand and the blue ground is the morning fog. The remaining skeletons of the trees, which are believed to have died 600–700 years ago, are now black because the intense sun has scorched them. Though not petrified, the wood does not decompose because it is so dry. It is an amazing place, i recommend to visit Deadvlei next time you’re up that way

Deadvlei, which means “dead march” is surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world, the highest reaching 300–400 meters (350m on average, named “Big Daddy” or “Crazy Dune”), which rest on a sandstone terrace.
